We are finally here, the Official VIGILANTE Store has launched!!!
With the encouragement and support of my family and friends, I was finally able to get off my ass to bring this brain-child of mine to the light of day.
How did the brand come together? As a proud San Francisco native, I have felt that NorCal needed more representation in the current streetwear landscape. All the relevant streetwear brands rep New York or Los Angeles, so I wanted to do something for the Bay Area.
For the brand name, I really wanted something with a local identity. The people of The Bay have always stood up for their convictions and have had a contributing role in every major civil rights movement in US history. I was also inspired by San Francisco's own local history, specifically the "Vigilance Committees" of old. So VIGILANTE was a natural fit for a brand name.
What does it mean to be a VIGILANTE really? Take any superhero and break him down to his core (sans the powers and fancy costume), what you ultimately have left is a vigilante. It’s someone that believes in living by their own rules and taking matters into their own hands. It’s rebel with a cause and a gigantic chip on their shoulder. Most importantly, it’s a renegade that stands up for what they believe in and forges their own path.
